The Wondogenet area in Sidama Region is a place of dense forest. Knowing the immense potential of the area with trees and dense forest the Ethiopian goverenment established the Wondogenet forestry college during the derg regime. With the presence of many species of flora the wondogenet area host a perfume factory and a gene bank. Apart from the ecological value the forest is an ideal place to make a forest hiking and trekking. The forest also a haven for birdwatchers.
