Known as one of the top visited destination in Sidama region the hot spring of Wondogent is one of the oldest goverenement manged natural hot spring in the region. Though the hot spring has served the locals for centuries the place got the modern infrastructure during the Derg regime. The development of Wabishebelle hotel ushered a new era of excursion and visiting culture in the area. People from the surrounding areas and from the capital Addis Ababa flocked to the hotspring during a weekend.
